One Another Ep.3(audio)

Jun 29, 2025    Pastor Daniel Sargent

Summary:

Our sermon explored Romans 11:33-12:11, addressing the common struggle of becoming apathetic or "slothful in zeal" towards church attendance and participation. This passage shows us that to move from being apathetic church consumers to active, intentional servants, we must cultivate a God-centered passion and understanding of the church and our place within the body of Christ. This shift in perspective can reignite our joy and commitment to serving one another and ultimately, serving the Lord.

Takeaways:

- Recognize the signs of being "slothful in zeal" in our church life, such as lack of enthusiasm, prioritizing other activities over church, or disconnecting from the broader church community.

- Cultivate a "fervent spirit" by focusing on God's greatness, His mercy in saving us, and the privilege of being part of His body, the church.

- Prepare our hearts for church through prayer and by recognizing that church life extends beyond Sunday mornings, embracing other opportunities for fellowship and growth.
